The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 1.5
This tool downloads videos from YouTube and extracts and saves the audio to MP3. Youtubetomp3.org is a very intuitive and easy-to-use program that allows you to get audio files out of your favorite YouTube online videos.
It supports video queuing, so that you can create a download list and get all the videos downloaded one at a time. Moreover, it can play back the extracted audio using your default media player.
The program presents a nice user interface that basically consists of two tabs – Queue and Downloaded. On the former you can see a list of the videos to be downloaded, and a list of already extracted audio files on the latter. The program includes a small window that helps you add to the Queue section all the videos whose audio you want to extract. It is even capable of detecting when you have copied a YouTube URL to your clipboard, adding it automatically to the Queue window, where you will need to provide a title or video description manually.
As stated before, you can add several videos to the Queue section and then start the download process by clicking on the "Convert" button. The program downloads each video one at a time, extracts its audio stream and adds it to the Downloaded section. On that section, you can see a list of all the newly-created MP3 files. The description you typed when adding each video will be used to build the MP3 filename. Finally, you can select a file and press the "Play MP3" button to launch your default media player and listen to it.
Undoubtedly, this is a great free tool, very helpful whenever you want to keep the soundtrack of your favorite YouTube videos.
